Clearwater Beach Grocery Store

Are you planning a trip to Clearwater Beach, Florida? All of the Clearwater Beach Vacation Rentals we offer feature multiple bedrooms, bathrooms, and full kitchens! Having several bedrooms, multiple bathrooms, and a full kitchen in each of the condos provides ample room for the entire family to enjoy a family vacation together.

If your beach vacation is a week long, or even longer, you’ll definitely enjoy having the ability to cook your favorite meals. The full kitchens come with full-sized refrigerators, stovetops and ovens, microwaves, and dishwashers. Not having to go out to eat every day for breakfast, lunch and dinner will help save money and provide you with the best sunset view available – the beachfront balcony from your condo! The only thing you’ll need is a quick trip to the closest Clearwater Beach grocery store.

Closest Clearwater Beach Grocery Store

The closest Clearwater Beach grocery store is Publix Super Market at Island Village Shopping Center. Publix is just over a mile from Surfside Condominiums and The Villas of Clearwater Beach. Publix is a full supermarket with a wide range of groceries, a large deli, and fresh bakery. The Publix on Island Way features beer and wine but does not sell liquor.

There are many happy hours on Clearwater Beach, but it’s difficult to beat enjoying your favorite drink while looking over Clearwater Beach from your condominium’s balcony. If you’re looking to make your own drinks, stop by Walgreens on Clearwater Beach. Walgreens is located at 401 Poinsettia Ave, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767 and can be seen directly from the roundabout that you take as you enter Clearwater Beach. In addition to the traditional Walgreens store, they also have a large liquor store with everything you’ll need to make your favorite cocktail.

While staying on Clearwater Beach, you may run out of sunscreen and need to buy more. All of these stores offer sunscreen, but you can also find an option closer to Surfside Condominiums and The Villas of Clearwater Beach. CVS is a located within a short walking distance from the condos and provides a quick way to pick up any grocery items you may have forgotten, extra sunscreen, after-sun skin care or even sunglasses and beach toys that you may want. While CVS is a short walk away, they also have a fairly large parking lot available for customers as well. CVS carries beer and wine but does not have a full liquor store. The closest and largest liquor store is the Walgreens right next to the Clearwater Beach roundabout.

If you’re looking for beach chairs, umbrellas, or even bikes, kayaks, paddleboards and fishing equipment! Visit Clearwater Paddle Board and Rental Co. to purchase or rent your needed beach gear!

Crystal River, Florida Kayaking

While there are many things to do when visiting Clearwater Beach, there are also other parts of Florida worth experiencing. Many of these places are just a relatively short distance from Clearwater Beach and can make a great day trip! Crystal River, Florida definitely makes the list of places to go if you’re looking for a fun day trip location.

Kayaking in Crystal River, Florida

Crystal River, Florida is located on the Gulf Coast just an hour and forty-five minutes north of Clearwater Beach. (Click here for directions.) Crystal River, Florida has become known as the “Home of the Manatee”. Manatees flock to Crystal River, Florida each fall and spend the winter enjoying the warm water in the area. As the water temperature of the Gulf of Mexico drops, the Three Sisters Springs of Crystal River, Florida keeps the water in the area much warmer. The Three Sisters Springs maintain a water temperature of 72 degrees throughout the entire year! The springs also keep the water crystal clear, hence the name – Crystal River.

The clear and warm waters of Three Sisters Springs not only attracts manatees but also makes the Crystal River area an amazing location for kayaking!

The ideal time to go to kayaking at Crystal River is during late September, through the winter, and into March. This is when the water of the Gulf of Mexico is much cooler, and the warm waters of Three Sisters Springs attract manatees to the area. Three Sisters Springs is part of the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge and the King’s Bay Manatee Refuge. During the cooler months of the year, this area becomes home to the largest population of manatees in the world! While the coolers months are when you’re most likely to see manatees, the Crystal River area is a beautiful area for kayaking no matter what time of year it is.

You can bring your own kayaks, or you can rent kayaks in the Crystal River area. When I went kayaking in Crystal River, Florida, I rented from Hunter Springs Kayaks. Hunter Springs Kayaks offers guided tours, kayak rentals, paddle board rentals and kayak/paddle board hybrids for those who are new to standup paddle boarding. Hunter Springs Kayaks is located just a few blocks from the water. This provides plenty of free parking and a very short walk to the water. Don’t worry about carrying your kayak or paddleboard. All rented equipment is transported down to the water for you!

While I haven’t been kayaking in Crystal River, Florida during the Manatee Season (Late September through early April), I still had a great time kayaking through the beautiful area. I was able to see a few manatees and dolphins as I kayaked around the Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge. The entire area truly is beautiful!

After kayaking in Crystal River, Florida, I drove a slower way back to Clearwater Beach. I stayed off the major highway and drove south on 19, giving me the opportunity to stop at one of my favorite places for dinner, Hellas Restaurant, in Tarpon Springs.

North Clearwater Beach

Clearwater Beach is a small barrier island on the Gulf Coast of Florida. The beautiful sunset views and soft white sand have made Clearwater Beach an award-winning vacation location. The white sand beaches stretch two and a half miles from the south side of the island to North Clearwater Beach.

Why I love staying on North Clearwater Beach

There are many places to stay on Clearwater Beach. One decision that is often overlooked is the difference between staying on North Clearwater Beach or on the south side of the island. I personally love staying on North Clearwater Beach.

The beach on North Clearwater Beach is less crowded

One of the best parts of North Clearwater Beach is that the actual beach is less crowded. While Clearwater Beach is a public beach, the most crowded areas of the beach are South Beach and the areas near Pier 60. As you head further north, the beach will become less crowded. Giving you more room to choose a relaxing spot near the calm ocean or a larger area to toss a football or frisbee around.

Restaurants in walking distance

While North Beach is much quieter and less crowded, there are still many fabulous restaurants within walking distance. Some of the best restaurants on Clearwater Beach are close by including Frenchy’s Original Cafe, Palm Pavilion Grill & Bar, Clear Sky Beachside Cafe, and many others!

And if you’re looking for an extremely short walk or even a delivery, check out Angelo’s Pizza on the corner of Mandalay Avenue and Idlewild Street. This is on the same block of Surfside Condominiums or just around the corner from The Villas of Clearwater Beach.

Party areas, bars and nightclubs

…are located on South Beach. Leaving North Clearwater Beach quieter and more relaxing at night.

If you are on a family vacation with young kids, you’ll enjoy having a quieter area, especially at night. Even if you don’t have young children with you, you’ll enjoy being able to sit on the balcony at night, star gaze and hear the waves of the Gulf of Mexico.

North Clearwater Beach has a few bars with more relaxed atmospheres, all within a very short walking distance. If you’re wanting to check out the busier bars and nightclubs on South Beach, it is walkable but may be further than you’d like to walk. Some of the bars and nightclubs on South Beach may offer free shuttles (usually large golf carts), but even if they don’t offer rides they are all just a short Uber ride away. Uber will make getting to South Beach Clearwater quick and inexpensive.

…and when you’re ready to call it a night, it’ll be nice to be able to get back to a quiet bed on North Clearwater Beach.

North Clearwater Beach Vacation Rentals

Surfside Condominiums and The Villas of Clearwater Beach both offer North Clearwater Beach Vacation Rentals with beachfront oceanviews on private balconies, multiple bedrooms, full kitchens, and swimming pools.

Best Clearwater Beach Breakfast

My favorite Clearwater Beach breakfast is a simple one. Grabbing a bowl of cereal and a cup of coffee and taking them out on the balcony overlooking the beach.

For me, it’s hard to beat the simplicity of a bowl of cereal for breakfast. Add a beautiful view, and it’s perfect. But that’s not for everyone. Thankfully, if you’re staying at Surfside Condos of the Villas of Clearwater Beach, you’ll have a full kitchen to cook any of your favorite breakfast meals and a beautiful view from a beachfront balcony! But if you’re not looking to cook breakfast every morning while you’re on vacation, here are the best Clearwater Beach breakfast restaurants!
