Best Take Out and Delivery Food Clearwater Beach

Clearwater Beach is filled with restaurants with great views, fun atmospheres, and delicious food. But it’s not always easy to eat out. You may be visiting Clearwater Beach during a busy time of year and have don’t want to wait for a table, or maybe you’re traveling with young kids or even infants who have very early bedtimes. All the beachfront condos in Surfside Condominiums and The Villas of Clearwater Beach have full-size kitchens, but just because you can cook doesn’t mean you always want to! Sometimes some delicious take out or delivery food is exactly what you need! Here’s some of the best take out and delivery food in Clearwater Beach!

Pearly’s Beach Eats

45 Papaya Street, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767 | 727-223-9955

A great menu filled with Salads, Tacos, Bowls, Burritos, Burgers, and more! I love their Blackend Fish Tacos and their Beef Burrito, both served with some delicious chips and salsa!

This small restaurant is excellent for call-in orders and quick take out times!

Frenchy’s Original Cafe

41 Baymont Street, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767 | 727-446-3607

While you’ll see the Frenchy’s name across several restaurants, shops, fishing fleets, and even a hotel in the Clearwater Beach area – Frenchy’s Original Cafe is where it all started back in 1981! Frenchy’s Cafe is known for its delicious Grouper Sandwich! Add some Buffalo Shrimp, and you’ll be eating my favorite Clearwater Beach meal! The small cafe can fill up very quickly, but you can get the food to go or get it delivered by ordering through DoorDash!

Palm Pavilion Beachside Grill & Bar

10 Bay Esplanade, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767 | 727-446-2642

Palm Pavilion Beachside Grill & Bar sits right on the beach with beautiful sunset views, live music, and delicious food and drinks! That said, it can be busy with long wait times for tables. That said, they have a huge kitchen and can have to go orders ready to pick up very quickly! Call in an order and take it back to your beachfront condo! You’ll have delicious food and a private sunset view!

If seafood isn’t for you, check out their St. Louis BBQ Smoked Ribs! I’m a harsh judge for ribs (and I live in St. Louis), and I still highly recommend these!

Cooters Restaurant & Bar

423 Poinsettia Ave, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767 | 727-462-2668

A great sports-themed bar/restaurant with great happy hour specials! Cooters is a place that I would usually recommend going to for all you can eat crab legs on Monday and Tuesday or all you can eat Fish and Chips on Wednesday every week! But there’s so much more on Cooters delicious menu! They have amazing Hot Crabby Shrimp Dip, She Crab Soup, and fantastic hot wings!

Their hot wings are so good that I’ve been known to complicate a take our dinner by adding multiple stops – Cooters hot wings to go with some local pizza! Speaking of pizza…

Samgelo’s Pizza

650 Mandalay Ave, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767 | 727-447-2020

Samgelo’s Pizza is located at the top of the street from Surfside Condos (only one block over from the Villas of Clearwater Beach). It offers delicious pizza – thin crust, original crust, pan crust even gluten-free options! Quick delicious pizza only steps away and also offering delivery!

When it comes to delivery/to-go food, Chinese food often comes to mind, and Tan’s Chinese Restaurant on Clearwater Beach has you covered!

Clearwater Beach Thanksgiving 2019

It is officially Fall in Clearwater Beach even though it doesn’t really feel like it! The weather still is in the upper 80’s just days before Halloween. The Clearwater Beach weather will remain warm and sunny through the rest of October and November providing great weather for a Clearwater Beach Thanksgiving Trip!

Clearwater Beach Thanksgiving Celebration

B&W Management still has three beachfront condominiums available for Thanksgiving!

Clearwater Beach in One Day

There’s so much to do when visiting Clearwater Beach that you can easily stay for a week or even longer. But, if all you have is a single day, here’s how to maximize your time on Clearwater Beach, Florida!

Morning in Clearwater Beach

If you’re visiting Clearwater Beach for a single day, the first thing you’ll need to figure out is how to get there and where to park when you do! You can avoid the crowded parking and frequent traffic jams headed to the island by parking in Downtown Clearwater and taking the Clearwater Ferry! Keep up with their routes and schedules on their website or the app (available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store).

Taking the Clearwater Ferry not only helps you avoid traffic and parking issues and gives you an opportunity to squeeze a fun boat ride in for your day in Clearwater Beach. I suggest taking the Purple Line leaving from Downtown Clearwater and exiting at North Beach.

If you arrive in North Clearwater Beach in the morning and need breakfast, there are some great places nearby! Within a few blocks, you’ll be able to find Clear Sky Cafe (with a Bloody Mary bar on the weekends), Another Broken Egg Cafe, and Beach Fire Beach Bar & Grille!

After Breakfast, head out to the beach! You’re only steps away from the soft white sand that Clearwater Beach is known for. If you took the Clearwater Ferry to North Beach, you’re in a great area! North Beach is less crowded than South Beach and still has many great restaurants and shops nearby!

When finding a spot on North Beach, look between Sandpearl Resort and Palm Pavilion Beachside Grill & Bar. This area is right next to the breakfast locations mentioned before, a short walk to many stores and great restaurants, and has Clearwater Beach Lifeguards in the area. Being next to the Lifeguards will make it easy to keep an eye on any changing weather conditions or other things to keep an eye on. The Lifeguard stations will be flying flags that mark the conditions on the beach and in the Gulf of Mexico.

Afternoon in Clearwater Beach

After hanging out on the beach for a few hours, you may be interested in some lunch. Keep the great views going and grab lunch right on the beach at Frenchy’s Rockaway Grill or Palm Pavilion Beachside Grill & Bar. If you’re looking for a break from the sun and maybe even some air conditioning, you can grab a delicious Grouper Sandwich at Frenchy’s Original Cafe or head down to Jimmy Hula’s only blocks away!

After lunch, you can stop in at some of the nearby storefronts for a little bit of retail therapy, or even just to pick up some extra sunscreen or beach toys! You can find some great stores nearby like Surf Style, Freaky Tiki Surf Shack, Hulk Hogan’s Beach Shop or just a CVS to pick up an item you’re missing.

After lunch and a quick shopping trip, it’s time to enjoy more of the warm sun! Head back to the beach and enjoy more time in the ocean! If you’re nervous about swimming in the Gulf of Mexico you can also stop by the Clearwater Beach Community Pool that features a 6 lane Junior Olympic size swimming pool and an area for kids with a water slide shaped like a frog, squirting water jets, a mushroom-shaped waterfall and more! In addition to the pool you can also find tennis, basketball and pickleball courts!

Evening in Clearwater Beach

After a wonderful afternoon at the beach, pool or playing on the courts; it’s time to start thinking about some sunset fun!

The order of your evening plans may change based on what time of year it is and what time sunset is. During the summer, sunset is later in the day and may one to grab dinner first. During the winter, the sunset is quite a bit earlier and you’ll most likely want to grab dinner after seeing the sunset.

One of the best places to watch a Clearwater Beach sunset is at Pier 60’s Daily Sunset Festival! In addition to a beautiful sunset; Pier 60 offers a great area for kids to play, shopping from local artists and crafters directly on the pier and some great shows by street performers.

The daily sunset festival starts 2 hours before sunset and ends 2 hours after sunset. This timing allows you to choose the best time to eat dinner either before or after the beautiful Clearwater Beach sunset! Pier 60 is located right in the center of Clearwater Beach and has many restaurants nearby including The Bait House Tackle & Tavern located in the Clearwater Beach Marina for some great outdoor dining!

Nearby Dinner Suggestions

  • The Bait House Tackle & Tavern
  • Marina Cantina
  • Crabby’s Dockside
  • Poke Havana
  • Badfins Food + Brew
  • Ocean Hai
  • Jimmy’s Crows Nest (appetizers and drinks)

Stick around the Pier 60 area after dinner and sunset for a free outdoor movie! Enjoy a free movie under the stars at Pier 60’s Sunset Cinema every Friday and Saturday night! View the schedule of what’s showing here.

Depending on the time you can grab one of the last Clearwater Ferry rides from The Clearwater Beach Marina (located across the street from Pier 60) back to Downtown Clearwater or you get back to your car by taking a short taxi, Uber or Lyft.

While you can pack a lot of fun into a single Clearwater Beach in one day trip, you’ll still be missing a ton of fun things to do! Despite being a small island, Clearwater Beach has so much to offer that you could easily spend a full week and even longer here and not see everything. If you need more time in Clearwater Beach, come stay in our beachfront condos at The Villas of Clearwater Beach or Surfside Condominiums. We offer large luxurious condos with private beachfront balconies, full kitchens, multiple bedrooms and bathrooms, swimming pools and more!

Okay, any type of wine is great at any time! If you’re looking to enjoy some wine while visiting Clearwater Beach, here are the best places to drink wine and where to buy more when you run out!

Please don’t drink and drive!

Where to Drink Wine in Clearwater Beach, Florida

Beachfront Condos

Sitting on your private balcony, with a cool glass of wine in hand is a beautiful place to be. You have a great view, the wine of your choice, more cooling in your full kitchen just inside and no need to drive anywhere to get home!

Alcohol is not allowed directly on the beach, but this is just as good if not better because it stays cool just steps away! There are many beachfront condos all with private balconies and full kitchens available at Surfside Condominiums and The Villas of Clearwater Beach!

Clearwater Beach Bars, Restaurants, and Boats with Great wine and views!

There are many great Clearwater Beach bars and restaurants to grab some drinks and enjoy the beauty of the beach. Here are some of the best spots for drinking wine and enjoying great views!

After holding a glass of wine in your hand for a while, you may start to feel your balance sway back and forth… because you’re on a boat of course!

You can enjoy a different view of Clearwater Beach and some cool drinks on these boats!

There’s one place I have to mention when talking about wine on Clearwater Beach, and that’s Clearwater Wine Bar & Bistro! They may not have a beachfront view, but they have an amazing wine selection with a European inspired menu. Wine can be enjoyed there or you may purchase some to take home with you.

Where to Buy Wine

If you’re staying in having a few drinks at home, you can pick up some wine at these local stores.

While there are many festivals throughout the year on Clearwater Beach, most of which offer some food, wine, and beer options – there are also a Clearwater Beach festival focused on food and drinks!

Taking place each spring, Clearwater Beach Taste Fest highlights local restaurants, wine and craft beer! This event also includes live entertainment and fireworks on the beach next to Pier 60!

Located at the Sand Pearl Resort, Tate Island Grill features a pub food and a great view right on the sand of Clearwater Beach!

The Bait House Tackle & Tavern

45 Causeway Blvd, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767

The Bait House Tackle & Tavern has a great view, but it’s not of the beach. The Bait House sits right on the edge of the Clearwater Marina and even has dock space for boats to park in for lunch. The entire restaurant sits on the docks over the water and has a great view for passing the boats passing by. (The Bait House Tackle & Tavern is the featured image at the top of this post.)

They have a variety of local beers, wine and more. Their red sangria is my favorite sangria in the Clearwater area – it goes well with the relaxing views! They have a great menu filled with great seafood of course! But they also have some great burgers! If you stop in at Bait House, be sure to try their Drunked Shrimp! Since trying it, I haven’t been Bait House without order it!

Jimmy’s Crows Nest

101 Coronado Dr, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767

Jimmy’s Crows Nest has a small menu, but a huge view! They’re located at the top of the building. Giving you views over the Clearwater Beach Marina, the round-a-bout, and out to the waves of the Gulf of Mexico washing onto the shores of Clearwater Beach! It’s a great view to see the sunset, see over the daily sunset festival at Pier 60, and watch boats cruise in and out of the area.

Sandbar

430 S Gulfview Blvd, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767

A fancy tiki bar tucked right at the south side of Clearwater Beach and a part of Opal Sands Resort. The food is great, the views are even better! You’re right on the Gulf of Mexico and only steps from the soft sand of Clearwater Beach!

Sea-Guini

430 S Gulfview Blvd #100, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767

Sea-Guini is located inside Opal Sands Report. It’s a fantastic Italian inspired seafood restaurant with views over the Gulf of Mexico. No matter what day of the week you are going, I would suggest calling for a reservation at least earlier in the day if not the day before.

Caretta on the Gulf

1738, 500 Mandalay Ave, Suite 100, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767

Located inside Sandpearl Resort, “Caretta on the Gulf invites guests to experience Clearwater’s only AAA Four-Diamond restaurant. Breathtaking views of the Gulf of Mexico are complemented by fresh, seasonally-inspired cuisine.”

My Personal Favorite Clearwater Beach Restaurants

Frenchy’s Original Cafe

41 Baymont Street, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767

Frenchy’s Original Cafe is almost always my first stop when visiting Clearwater Beach. This small restaurant is where Frenchy started his Florida empire. It’s a great atmosphere with the best Grouper sandwiches around, delicious buffalo shrimp, and much more!

Bait House Tackle & Tavern

45 Causeway Blvd, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767

If my first stop isn’t Frenchy’s Original Cafe, then you’ll find me at Bait House. These are my top two favorite restaurants in Clearwater Beach.  The food is great, but my favorite part of this location is the atmosphere, cold drinks and a great view of the water.

Pearly’s Beach Eats

45 Papaya Street, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767

Easily the best fish tacos I’ve ever had. Fast, delicious, can’t beat it!

Sea-Guini

430 S Gulfview Blvd #100, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767

This place holds a place in my heart because I celebrated an anniversary there, and have tried to take my wife there for a Clearwater Beach date night on every Clearwater Beach trip we make.

Cooter’s Restaurant & Bar

423 Poinsettia Ave, Clearwater Beach, FL 33767

“Chill, sports-themed locale for seafood including all-you-can-eat- crab legs plus wings & spirits.” Crab legs, check! And their wings are delicious!

Hellas Restaurant and Bakery

785 Dodecanese Blvd, Tarpon Springs, FL 34689

Hellas isn’t actually located in Clearwater Beach, but it is just a short drive away in Tarpon Springs. The authentic Greek food and pastries are so delicious! From their greek salad, saganaki, gyros, K-bobs, stuffed grouper or stuffed shrimp — everything is amazing! After a full dinner, it’s great to grab some baklava or other delicious Greek pastries for dessert!

Clearwater Beach is known as a family-friendly beach. It is beautiful. The soft white sand and the typically calm waves of the Gulf of Mexico make a wonderful place for families of all ages to relax and play. As you walk the beach, you’ll see the Clearwater Beach lifeguard towers frequently placed both on the south and north sides of Pier 60.

During my last trip to Clearwater Beach, I was walking past the lifeguard towers on the beach and wondered “Do the lifeguards here love it as much as I do?”

So I decided to ask…

Interview with a Clearwater Beach Lifeguard

I spoke with Rachel Lersch, a Clearwater Beach Lifeguard. Rachel grew up as a Clearwater Beach local but recently moved to Fort Myers to work full time as an Assistant Project Manager for a civil engineering company.

Rachel: “I come back to Clearwater almost every weekend to work. Usually, when I share with people that I drive two hours to work my weekend job, everyone is shocked. I was born and raised in Clearwater so not only do I come home (to my first home) to work but I also use my off time to see my friends and family that live here… It’s a win, win for me! I truly love being a Clearwater Beach lifeguard and the distance does not bother me.

What I love about being a Clearwater Beach lifeguard is not just my job as a lifeguard but my co-workers that have turned into family. My boss is one of a kind. He is the type of boss that loves what he does and it shows through his hard-working employees. He has taught me so much! I know I can always count on my Clearwater Beach family to have my back no matter what and that type of work environment cannot be beaten! It is the number one reason I am not leaving Clearwater to lifeguard the beaches in Fort Myers. I know nothing can compare!”

Brad: Clearwater Beach is known as a wonderful, family-friendly beach. Do you have any advice for parents bringing their kids to the beach? What they should bring or not bring, any safety tips?

Rachel: Clearwater Beach is a great family beach with over a mile of a lifeguarded swim area. There are rental cabanas, umbrellas, and chairs set up for public use. There are activities for children near Pier 60, inflatable slides, concessions, playground area, ice cream shop, and outdoor showers. You are allowed to bring your own cooler, umbrellas, and tents, as long as the tents are not too close to the water and blocking the lifeguards’ view of the shoreline.

What to bring: towels, sand & water toys, drinks & snacks, chairs… don’t worry if you forget anything there are shops nearby that offer all the things I listed. What not to bring: alcohol, glass, dogs, and drones.

When getting in the water be sure to shuffle your feet to avoid stepping on stingrays. The stingray season is from April – October but they are occasionally present other months of the year. If you’re not sure of something, ask a lifeguard! We love answering questions and helping whenever we can. Safety and preventive safety is what we lifeguards live by. When at the beach, the best thing to do is to check what color flag is flying, be aware of what is going on around you and always listen to the lifeguards’ whistle and directions. We want everyone to have a fun, safe day at beautiful Clearwater Beach.”

Brad: What do the different flag colors mean?

Rachel: “Green: Low Hazard. Most of the time, on Clearwater Beach, we fly the Green flag. Conditions, for the most part, are good at Clearwater. Calm waters, sunny days!

Yellow: Medium Hazard. We will fly the yellow flag when there are possibilities of rip currents and rougher than normal waves. As a caution to the beachgoers to be prepared.

Red: High Hazard. We will fly the red flag when there are sever conditions. Rip currents, high surf, strong and rough waves are present.

Double Red: Water is closed. When the double red is flying we will whistle everyone to get out and stay out of the water!

Purple: Dangerous Marine Life. We will fly the purple flags if we know there are stingrays, jellyfish or other possible dangers present.

BradIs there a part of Clearwater Beach that is better for families?”

Rachel: “South of Pier 60 tends to be busier than North Beach but overall the whole beach is great for families or a beach day by yourself. During the month of March, Pier 60 and South Beach is usually full of spring breakers and it may not be an ideal beach day for the family during that time. My favorite part of Clearwater beach is North Beach, where it is usually much quieter. I have to say my all-time favorite spot is sitting in any of the 7 Lifeguard towers on Clearwater Beach!”

Brad: What are your favorite things about Clearwater Beach?

Rachel: “My favorite things about Clearwater beach is how beautiful it is and there are lots of things to do. Across from Pier 60 is the Marina where they have boat rides and Jet Ski rentals. There is also Jet Ski rentals and parasailing on the beach North of Pier 60 between towers 5 & 7. There are many places to eat and relax. They also have a Marine Aquarium not far from the beach. During the year they have various events held at the beach like the Sugar Sand Festival, Clearwater Super boat races, Taste Fest & Uncorked Food & Wine Festival to name a few. In my opinion, there is something for everyone on Clearwater Beach!”

Brad: What about a favorite place to eat?

Rachel: “If you ask any local on the beach this question… I’m pretty sure the first thing they will say is Frenchy’s. My number one answer to this question is Frenchy’s! Their food is awesome! I have been going to Frenchy’s since I was a kid. I absolutely love their “she crab soup”! If you are looking for a quieter place Pearly’s Beach Eats is my new favorite. I love the atmosphere, along with their yummy tacos and delicious ice cream that comes in a little coconut! It’s addicting.

If you’re looking for views with your food, Jimmy’s Crow’s Nest or Marina Cantina are my two favorites!

Breakfast… cannot forget breakfast! In my opinion… ClearSky Café has THE BEST breakfast in town. Seriously! They have something for everyone. Their selection is great! My personal favorite is any of their French Toasts… YUM!”

Brad: Thank you, Rachel, for taking the time to share your experience with us as a Clearwater Beach local and lifeguard!

Rachel: “Thank you for visiting the one and only Clearwater beach, the place we love to call our home. All of us that work the beach do it because we absolutely love being here. We care about public safety and keeping our waters safe. Working for Clearwater Beach has opened so many doors for me and I am blessed to work for a great city.”

Tampa Bay Frogman Swim

In addition to working as a full-time assistant project manager in Fort Myers and part-time Clearwater Beach lifeguard, Rachel also volunteers with the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim. “The Frogman Swim is a 5K open water swim in the Tampa Bay! We strive to bring awareness to the Navy Special Warfare community and support the Navy SEAL Foundation. People from all over raise money for this cause and swim 5K in freezing (Florida) January water for the Navy SEAL Foundation. Their mission is to provide immediate and ongoing support and assistance to the Naval Special Warfare community and their families. 100% of our proceeds go directly to the Foundation to help the families of our fallen heroes.

I love being a part of this organization, it is humbling to know I am doing a small part to help our service men and woman and their families when they sacrifice everything for our country’s freedom. This is special to my heart because my significant other is a proud member of the US Army and deployed to Iraq in 2016. Our support means more than words can explain to these families so if you feel in your heart you would like to contribute please reach out through the Tampa Bay Frogman Swim website or Facebook page!”
