When talking about my favorite places to go on vacation, my first response is always Clearwater Beach! …and that’s usually followed with the response… “Where’s Clearwater Beach?”
Where’s Clearwater Beach
Clearwater Beach is located on the Gulf of Mexico side of Florida. When looking at a map, you’ll find Clearwater Beach, Florida, in the Tampa Bay area. If you can find Old Tampa Bay on a map, follow the thinnest spot of land between Old Tampa Bay and the Gulf of Mexico. That narrow area of land will lead you to the downtown Clearwater area. Clearwater Beach is a barrier island on the Gulf of Mexico connected by a bridge to Clearwater, Florida.
Clearwater Beach, Florida, is an award-winning, family-friendly vacation destination. It has been named one of the Best Places to Travel in 2022, one of the best beaches in Florida, the United States, and even one of the best travel experiences in the world.
Where is Clearwater Beach Airport
Clearwater Beach airport is located only 12 and a half miles from the beach in Pinellas County, Florida. The airport’s official name is St. Pete – Clearwater International Airport (PIE). This small airport is an absolute breeze to get in and out of. It’s a short drive, and the airport’s small size makes it quick and easy to get in and out of.
St. Pete – Clearwater International Airport (PIE) offers domestic flights through Allegiant Air and Sun Country Airlines. International flights can be booked through Swoop Airlines.
If you’re looking for a different airline, this isn’t the only nearby airport. A wide variety of airlines can travel domestically and internationally to Clearwater Beach through the larger Tampa International Airport. Tampa International Airport is also close to Clearwater Beach, a short 20-mile drive from the airport to Clearwater Beach.
